We have a 39' fifth wheel and had no trouble navigating inside the park. The sites are spacious but all lined up next to each other. There is a gravel drive going around the pond, I think you can park out there if you don't need hookups.
There isn't much to do in the area, a couple of small restaurants and a grocery store. The area itself is kind of West-Texas oil town vibe with a lot of oil workers.
The Jal sheriff stopped by to check in on us at one point and to make sure we weren't an oil worker taking up the free spots, apparently some will come in and try to stay for longer. He wanted to make sure the park wasn't being taken advantage of by the oil workers.
You can hear a little traffic when you are outside but not when you're inside your RV.
We used the dump station on the way out and a grounds keeper wished us safe travels and hoped we would return. He said they were doing lots of landscaping and hoped to have it even better "the next time you're back." The people who maintain the park take pride in the park and we felt very welcomed here.

We stopped here on our way from Carlsbad, NM to Waco, TX after reading the reviews here in Campendium. We were only going to stay one night but decided to stay another. It was a lovely park. My son loved the playground, I loved the .7 mile paved trail around the lake as well as the exercise equipment, and my husband loved fishing in the lake as well as the price-FREE!
Gene Armstrong, the founder of the park came by to give us a tour of the city. It was a pleasure to meet him and learn more about the town. I’m so glad we decided to come here.

This is a city park spearheaded by one single individual to bring some revenue to the city. This is the cutest little park we have found. You can stay for up to 3 days for FREE!! Yes you read correctly it is free. There are 6 sites with electricity & water with the dump around the corner. There is a great walking trail used by many, playground for the kids. Only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the road leading here and on into Texas is TERRIBLE from all the construction trucks for the oil fields. The road in either direction coming from Carlsbad or going to midland/Odessa is like a washboard, there were times we weren’t sure our MH would survive the roads. Too bad they can’t use some of that money on a good road cause it really is a cute town.

Great little spot with free power. The park is nice and well kept up. The locals seem friendly enough. Jal is an oil town, a bit of an extension of west Texas. We ended up leaving and parking at a relatives house. The spots are vary spacious! All concrete where you park, but you back right up to a grassy area. Each spot has it's own covered picnic table. You have water and electric at the spot, but the dump station is not far away. This is a great place for a quick stop over!

The bad is a train track, busy road with a lot of trucks. The campsite area has street lights.
