“Very Noisy But Okay For One Night”
Reviewed 11/15/2024
Very close to the highway so you can hear all the highway traffic. Well lit and level enough to put out slides on curbside.

“Safe, Level But Noisy From Road”
Reviewed 12/14/2022
We felt safe all night here and the amenities looked decent, although we are self contained so didn’t use them.
Parking is parallel (no diagonal spots) on the access road so it makes for a noisy night with trucks/cars driving through and I-10 nearby.
Parking is level and fully paved.

This is a great spot for birding. We were here in May, and there were Tanagers everywhere as well as many other types. My suggestion is to try to park behind the restrooms. There is a two way frontage road back there with a couple of flat spaces. This will get you away from the trucks. Not sure the best way eastbound to get back there, so look for access before you get to the stop. This road connects back to the interstate at exit 314, so you could backtrack.

We have been here twice. Both times we have found a spots that were well lit and close to the rest rooms. There is sound from highway but it’s not too loud. I feel comfortable and safe.

Stopped here as an easy place to sleep for the night. Pretty noisy given that you are 30 feet or so from the interstate and trucks/cars are pulling in and out right next to you (there's no dedicated parking area, you just pull off to the side of the road). But we didn't have any problems overall and it was free so it is what you'd expect.
