We stopped here on our way to Custer where we spent most of our time. Found a very nice KOA and a place we would definitely stay again. Have never met such friendly and helpful camp hosts. Site took a little effort to get into but was fine for an overnight stop. Interesting area as well.

Stayed mid-April thru first week in May 2023.
Site type: Pull Thru, 50 Amps, Full Hookup
Overall: Would absolutely stay here again. Very helpful staff. Decent campground wifi and connectivity with Verizon and AT&T. The map is fairly accurate for site size and helpful to understand what sites feel tighter vs others.
THE GOOD
Sites: Long spots with grass.
Grounds: Clean and nicely maintained.
Gas/Food: Close to a large gas station (0.5 miles). The town of Hot Springs has a few restaurants and shops.
Connectivity: Verizon was slightly better than AT&T. Can stream on both if you like to.
THE BAD:
Sites: Some of the the pull-throughs were very tight. Especially in the 50s.
Sites: Avoid site #56. One of the camp workers (very nice family) is in a pull-through and I noticed that their slideouts take up the majority of their neighbors patio area. Something to consider.
WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad)
Noise: A touch of road noise but barely noticeable at night.
The ownership literally changed while we stayed. We arrived days after the water was turned on for the season. We met the previous owner (super nice guy) and the new staff (again all very nice). Not sure how it will impact anyone's stay. But, thought to mention it.

Found this KOA last minute while traveling through SD. Getting there and checking in were super easy. Todd left us a map, park pamphlet, and his phone number for our late check in. Park is well maintained and roads are clearly labeled. Since we visited in the off season we were having a hard time finding firewood, we called Todd to see if he had any suggestions and we found out that he/the camp sells wood and he even delivered it to our campsite. Todd was extremely nice when we spoke with him over the phone, he asked if the map made sense and asked if we needed anything. The bathroom/showers were extremely clean and we saw the trash was changed every day we were there. Park was quiet and since it is coupled up against some private property we even got to see a herd of cattle grazing about 50 feet away. The park is also very close to the town of hotsprings, about a 5 minute drive. Overall we had a great time and will be staying here again when we're in the area. Thanks Todd!

We stayed here on a last-minute trip to Hot Springs. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us to and out of our spot. The Pond location was nice and the park seemed well layed-out. Site was level with full hookups. Easy access to Hot Springs.

Dust bowl. Unlevel site. WiFi didn’t work. People there are friendly (as are most places). Campers walked right through our site. No privacy at all.

We are at the beginning of a 3 month trek and this was our first stop where we were staying a while. The campground was pretty hilly, but even with us being a newbie, it was easy to navigate. It is always nice to have the escort to your site! Our site was at the bottom of a hill, which was fun for the kids on their scooters! We were closest to the highway, so at times there was a bit of street noise, but we didn’t notice it much! Site was well maintained, we kept pretty busy, so didn’t have a chance to go to the pool and didn’t discover the playground until our last night. It was close to downtown and the National Park. We were very lucky to have great neighbors!
WiFi was a bit shotty, tethering to AT&T phone was at times better.

The staff at the park wasnvery nice and the laundry room was very clean.
We were there 10/20/2019 - 10/24/2019. The pool was closed by then. I will say that the park is up a large hill. Just take your time but the park is big rig friendly. Internet worked well as my husband was able to work while we were there with a Verizon jet pack.
We would stay there again.

The owners and staff were tremendously kind and responsive to our questions. We work from the road so good Wi-Fi is essential on workdays and the service at this campground was really good. This was our second visit so I know that it does get very busy in the summer but we enjoyed their great pizza and pancake breakfast last time. Many great hiking trails within easy driving distance and close to Wind Cave National Park as well as Custer State Park.

Overall great experience staying at this campground. I was told we were staying during a popular offroad event weekend, but never could tell. The park was extremely quiet, especially considering that the sites are a little cramped. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Front office was able to give me directions to the nearest source for DEF. Trash cans are conveniently located throughout the park and the crews pickup regularly so not to cause any odors. All the sites in the upper loop seem to be very level ( I didn't notice anyone using major blocking). Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

“cancellation process was Horrible”
noted 8/5/2022
I cancelled in time for their cancellation guidelines and they still charge me my entire deposit plus 10 cancellation charge instead of giving back the deposit and only keeping $10 as their cancellation policy stated. Their manager refused me the 1st time, then I called back and stated I would bring this to small claims court, they finally agreed to return my money as stated in their policy. The policy stated it must be done by 4pm and I called at 4pm, but the lady putting in the cancellation did not place the cancellation order until 4:14. 14 minutes it took their employee and they tried to get me on that technicality. The definitely lost our business and apparently they are doing terrible with their business that they have to cheat their potential customers when they can.
