We went about 3-4 miles down the road, so we were pretty far back and we still had decent cell service. We had no problems with people or noise. Most of the noise we heard were from owls or coyotes. There were many others camping, but not close to us. Great location close to Flagstaff and Sedona. We had a beautiful site nestled in the woods. The elevation kept us cool in the summer. One night we were actually really cold! We look forward to camping here again.

This was our 6th time camping here. We have always felt safe. The surroundings are beautiful, if you head north you hit flagstaff, and south you hit Sedona, Oak Creek, Slide Rock area. Very beautiful! Some noise at night when in the tent, as to be expected.

The site itself was absolutely gorgeous. We didn’t have any problems getting in with our 27ft motorhome. The road is a bit rough on the first few switch backs but if you go slow you can make it. We went about 4 miles in and found some great large open and level sites. Our friends drove a Jeep towing a pop up and had no issues. We were about 30 minutes from downtown Flagstaff and enjoyed going down there during the day and exploring local shops. No fires allowed but we had a propane fire pit, I was glad to see the rangers out checking in on this. The area is gorgeous and we will definitely come back. There is a bit of noise from passing vehicles but nothing too bad, a few OHVs and trucks throughout the day but to be expected in this area.
Now for the crappy part..literally. People are disgusting and DO NOT respect this land or the camp sites. We thought we had found a relatively clean site until we started walking around and our dogs went behind a bush and came out smelling awful. We looked over and realized there were 4 bags of human feces someone had left behind! Of course we found this after one of our dogs had rolled in it and had her front covered. My husband ended up having to bag all of this up in multiple garbage bags to get it out of the camp sites so that the other animals wouldn’t continue getting into it. On our way out of camp on Sunday morning we saw multiple sites completely littered with trash and bags and bags piled up that were being torn apart and scattered by crows. PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT. I can’t understand why this is so hard to figure out.

If you have 4WD ( this spot inspired us to trade up to one) Go further in! The views as you drive further are breath taking, and we woke to hot air balloons. Be prepared for ants , and afternoon gusts of winds, and awning , or some shade needs to come with you. A strong awning. Star gazing was excellent, and at the time we were there camp fires allowed. It would have been perfect but for the long term camper who did not leash his pit bull, who charged at us numerous times , growled, and was unsupervised until his owner would lolligag over , and baby talk the beast , hoping for a different outcome. Beautiful dog, just needed obedience training. He was sure menacing. I’ll return, and hope for the best. It was probs a one off. There is dust from numerous OHV access, but at least it stops by beddy bye time

This was a very beautiful site! Parked the rig here and then ventured to Slide Rock State Park and had a blast with the kids! The road is a little rough. Very rough at the beginning. Worth the drive up to the top for some flat spots for the rig. (2021 Forrest River Vive t28QB)

It's a little rough at first, we scratched the back of our bike rack on our way in. After a few switchbacks it was flat and beautiful land with decent service. There were smaller sites during the switchbacks and plenty of room for larger rigs at the top.

Wonderful place, outside of the busier areas. We did notice some sites that were not clean. Pack it in, pack it out, folks! Third or fourth time here, it is our go to and we enjoy it every time.

It was hard for us to find anything completely level but what do you expect, it’s the Forest and it’s free! My only issue is that there are huge signs telling people to pick up and take their trash with them. Which you would think is common sense right...??? Well not to some people... some spots were trashed!! The one we parked next to had so much trash, my husband and son picked up a big trash bag full of someone else’s trash! If you come here TAKE YOUR TRASH!!!!!!! This place is free but don’t expect it to be open all the time if it’s always trashed. Would definitely come back!

My husband went to look around at the neighbor's after we're noticed the solar panels had been disconnected and he saw a homeless encampment way up the hill. He noticed the tread on the shoes matched the tread left on the roof. We called the ranger and left the very next morning.
