Awesome place to stay! The road coming in from the 87 is really easy, and it's a through road just in case you can't find a spot...no need to worry about turning around. Spots are very large and spaced out, felt like we had the entire forest to ourselves. No service though with AT&T or T-Mobile. Had to drive down the road and hop back... more
Awesome place to stay! The road coming in from the 87 is really easy, and it's a through road just in case you can't find a spot...no need to worry about turning around. Spots are very large and spaced out, felt like we had the entire forest to ourselves. No service though with AT&T or T-Mobile. Had to drive down the road and hop back on the 87 for any type of cell service. We can't wait to come back.

This weekend and 2 weekends prior we’re nice. Thunderstorms both times but short lived. There are lots of flat, easily accessible spots along this road and all the other adjoining roads. There are a lot of camps that have razors and quads. The noise will detract from the quietness of the forest if that’s what you’re looking for.

Overall Rating
This place was GREAT! Easy access and plenty of spaces. We stayed about 1-2 in. Pretty level and surrounded by pines. It was moderate traffic for Memorial Day weekend with UTVs and cars, but that’s to be expected. Definitely a dusty place to stay, but that’s to be expected too. Had a great time and will be back for sure!

Overall Rating
From this entrance you can go up FR 149 or 616 and find a lot of sites for large rigs. We have a 42 ft toy hauler and went a few miles in. Lots of big sites. Beautiful area. Very peaceful in October. Holidays get really busy.

Overall Rating
FR 149 is a great area with access to numerous spaces of all sizes. A lot of trails for ATV riding. We stayed over Memorial weekend and found a great spot for our 39ft 5th wheel. A lot of atv traffic so if thats not your thing then this isn't for you!
