We stayed in Site 30 in the North Loop of Deer Ridge Campground. The gravel pad was a little uneven, but not terrible. We used our Andersen levelers and were fine after that. In a lot of areas the gravel pads have spilled over, leaving very little grass. Some of the sites in this loop, especially towards the center of the loop, would be hard to use with a tent.
The sites in the North Loop are small-medium size. The ones on the outer portion of the loop are bigger. We were on an inner part of the loop, where the sites are more smooshed together and some are angled weird. The campground is full of mature trees, providing plenty of shade. You can access two trails right from the campground, which is really nice too. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful, and we saw them out and about a lot.
We visited in mid-April for two weeks. On weekends, the main loop campsites filled up and the walk-in sites were probably about 80% full. During the week it cleared out a lot and was pretty empty. Overall, it was a quiet campground. At night you can hear a train in the distance, but it’s not close.
Our only regret about camping at Ferne Clyffe is that we wish we had one of the roomier walk-in or outer loop campsites. Even on weekends, the walk-in RV sites were never completely full, so now we know for next time. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay at Ferne Clyffe and would definitely camp here again.
We use Verizon for our cell phones and routinely had 4 bars. We have both T-Mobile and Verizon home internet. Throughout our time at Ferne Clyffe, we had good service with both providers, but T-Mobile was stronger. We had amazing speed with T-Mobile at Ferne Clyffe.
Shower house was disappointing with less than hot water and low pressure. Easy access to water spigot from our site with good quality water.

It was our Spring Break and there were not many campers in the park so we really enjoyed our visit. But I can see where it might feel a little tight when the park is full. The shower facilities were not yet open for the season so we cannot comment on them. There are vault toilets that were clean and well kept while we were there. We enjoyed the hiking and the interesting sandstone topography. They have a lovely, small lake with a nice trail around it. If you are into rock climbing there are multiple opportunities here in the park ranging from basic to technical climbing. We are not climbers but noted quite a few who were taking advantage of the anchored walls. Electric only in the campground but there is potable water at the end of the dump station area. Be sure to fill up on your way to your site.

We loved our three nights at Ferne Clyffe. We used it as a base for visiting Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock. We also really appreciated all the trails within the park. The park appears well maintained.

We arrived on accident. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful places! We hiked down to the waterfall and we got a lovely much needed rain shower while there.

##Deer Ridge campground is a well-shaded Class A for RV camping. Water spigets scattered in camp ground and near dump station) Sites 1-22? Non-reserveable (newest gravel), 23 is host, 24- 59 reserveable
All with power some 30amp others have 50amp see details on camp ground web site. Believe at least 4 drive thru sites. Older but clean showers house w/flush toilets. Also pit outhouses for off season use.

Nice, quiet, shady sites. Coverage on our iPad was 3 bars, while on our phones between 2-3. Hike to waterfall was short with a wonderful view. There must be a lack of rain because the waterfall itself was a dribble and most of the creek bed was dry. Still worth it.

Nice park. Lots of bike trails & trailheads to walk. We arrived on a weekday just after Labor Day & there were many sites to choose from. We had 30 amp service only. They do have a water spigot near the area you can fill from. They have a dump station & clean fill water there too. The bathroom & shower building was open.

Nice site away from the main ring of camp sites. Very quiet until weekend, and more campers arrived.
Would definitely visit again, perhaps in fall...

We stopped here simply because we were passing through while on a long roadtrip and I was desperate for a hookup so I could use my heater for a night. I called ahead to ask about the protocol for showing up after hours and the ranger told me to pick any open spot and he’d catch up with us in the morning. It was mid March and there were only three RVs parked throughout a spacious campground. I don’t remember exactly but I think there’s around 60+ sites. All sites seemed level. The showers were closed since it was still off season but there were vault toilets. The ranger stopped by our van around 9/10am to collect payment. He offered a map of the park and recommended we check out the trails. We did one of the waterfall trails and it was really beautiful. I only wish we had been there during a better season to get the full effect of the park.
