The museum allows you to park your RV in the large back parking lot, close to the Boy Scout park. The parking lot is well-lit and pretty level. We checked in with the museum staff and didn't have a problem. Very convenient and a cool place to walk around and explore after hours.

Big thanks to Marshall because without his review of this parking lot we would have missed out on visiting a super cool museum! Our original reason for stopping there overnight was because we needed a place to stay and it was on the way for us to the coast.
The museum itself is definitely worth the visit – I was skeptical at first because of admission cost and I’m not that interested planes or history (Jerud is), but I found the place fascinating. Give yourself a good amount of time to visit because there are two separate (huge) buildings: one for aviation and the other for space. There are so many interesting things to see in each museum in addition to the Spruce Goose!
Behind the parking lot is a forest with nice trail through it, which the dogs really enjoyed. We had decent cell service here (3 bar LTE). There is free wi-fi inside the museum and a café area. There are also a whole bunch of wineries in McMinnville, something else to do while you’re in the area. It’s a very beautiful area.
The site quality got a 3 star only because it was a parking lot.

Want to visit the Spruce Goose? Looking for a place to park your rig for a night? Looking to kill two birds with one stone? Sometimes dreams do come true, and this is one such time.
If you are visiting the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum you are allowed to park in the back parking lot (behind the theater building) one night. Just one night, so don’t think you can hang out here for a week.
I was told I didn’t need to check in with the museum admission desk (though I did call first to confirm I could stay here) so I picked a nice level spot away from the main parking lot and went into low profile camping mode. There was another rig in the general area that had stayed the previous night, and left shortly after I arrived.
There is nothing glamorous about the location. It is an asphalt parking lot. The perimeter is lit at night, but it wasn’t an issue for me. You may/will hear a bit of aviation noise during daylight hours, as the airport is across the main drag from the museum. But it isn’t a heavily used airport. No commercial traffic that I heard.
The reason you stay here is to visit the museum, or more specifically, to see the Spruce Goose. There is no better location to stay if you are in the area to only do this. If you need to stay more than one night, there is a commercial RV park right next to the museum that didn’t seem to be too terrible (I walked through it on my evening stroll).
