Perfect place to campground if you need hookups. Sites are well spaced. There were no lake front sites, but easy access at the ramp. Clean shower rooms. Plan on spending at least 3-4 days. This campground is in a good location for exploring the north east side of the area. Trails are fantastic and kayaking on the lake was fantastic. Those more adventurous have direct access to the Tenn. River. Bring supplies, no stores within park boundaries and NO GAS. You can drive a lot exploring, so make sure you top off before coming into the park. Order maps of the trail system before you go. And, make sure you go to the visitors center, the history is great.
Cell phone coverage was spotty, I had coverage while kayaking. LOL
If you don't need hookups, check out the campground directly on the rivers. Though they look really isolated on the map, in reality they are good roads and nicely maintained. no hookups, pit toilets

Beautiful lake with a welcome breeze. Plenty of shade for the hot days. Some spots are sunny too so you have your pick. Campground was pretty empty when we stayed so super quiet. Loved this place. Only drawback is no trails from the campground. Have to drive 4 miles to get to a decent one.

Perfect for paddlers looking to launch from site. Also have a few canoes/kayaks for rent on-site. Small campground with adequate bathroom/shower facilities. Level sites. Great for smaller TT.

A remote peaceful gravelly Campground with lots of waterfront access for canoeing and fishing with some cabins. This is not a good campground for large campers. Access to stores is often 10 to 20 miles away.
A Buffalo and Elk preserve is nearby as well as an 1850 homestead and some Nice Lake hikes.

We stayed at Energy Lake Campground June 6-10 at site C4. We had friends camping on site C3. From site C4 we had great sunset views over the lake. The afternoon sun was intense but the sunset made it worthwhile. Our kids were able to swim in the lake right from the campsite (C3 & C4) so we didn't need to go to the beach. I feel sites C3, C4, C5 (no electric) & C6 are the best in the entire campground. Check-in was easy and quick. Turning into the C loop may be rather difficult for larger rigs, we have a 25' pull behind and got in easily. There is a turn and steep downhill at the entrance to the loop. The bathroom/shower combos are the single units that you see at a lot of the National Forests. Unfortunately the bathrooms were only cleaned once while we were there so they got dirty by Saturday when they came to clean.
Electric is available at most sites but not all. Water is available in several places but not at each site. I was able to fill my tank from a nearby hydrant.
There are a lot of activities at Land Between the Lakes. The Homeplace is really neat to see, the Laser light show, not so much (its pretty dated), we did not drive through the Elk & Bison prairie so no comment there. The playground at the campground is minimal but generally sufficient for the kids. There are canoe/kayak rentals available on-site, we brought our own and Energy Lake is a great place to paddle around, albeit rather small.
We love Energy Lake and would go back anytime, it is one of our favorites.

Lovely campground. We stayed in a primitive site with no electricity. The showers in d area were nice had normal faucets with lots of hot water. The neighboring sites were close but they were nice people. It rained a bit but there was a nice covered picnic area that we sat and cooked in while it rained.
