Once you go North you will not have to pay the people to camp out there and you will find more space to your self away from the rest of the surfers. Our closest neighbors were probably a 1/4 mile away. We camped just off the beach. It was hot. The water was great, but its rough. I got my ass kicked in the ocean. No service here, but a tiny bit of E, enough to possibly get a text to go through. But this is the type of place where you shouldn't be on your damn phone anyways. Theres lots of driftwood so we could make bonfire size campfires on the beach each night. All in all a fantastic spot except for the old man I saw taking a dump in the ocean.

This is the main slice of this camping area, and where most of the surfers congregate. If it were just for this spot, I would have gone with a lower rating, but if you drive just a little further north you can escape this toilet paper peppered sandscape for an even more beautiful area, where you won't be right on the beach but just behind the dunes and significantly more excluded. While the cell service is nothing you can rely on, certainly, by leaving our phones on we would occasionally be able to get a text message in or send one out if necessary.

This is the type of camping you came to Baja for. On the bluff, just above the crashing waves, a cool breeze as the sun sets... nothing else matters. The road is long but passable with 2WD and some care. Be aware that crossing the wash to get to the El Canejo South may require 4WD, but not always. As you crest the hill and get your first view of the area, stop your vehicle and look around. This is your best chance to pick a site and the route too it.
No cell signal to speak of.
Cost is 6 USD per person, a gentlemen (who speaks no English at all) will come collect.
