We stayed in a “tent” spot with no hookups since it was all that was available and it was half the price. Our spot was fine and more than large enough for our 23 foot rig. But the lady at the check in kiosk pretty much scared us from hanging out outside saying there are coyotes and rattlesnakes everywhere and we shouldn’t let our dog into the grass or bushes. Add that to dogs aren’t allowed on trails or the beach here and you quickly find yourself driving out of the park to do things other places.
It is a convenient location to explore Newport and laguna and you do have views of the water, but the beach is a bit of a walk.
Cell service was fine.
Showers are 2 tokens for a dollar and each token gets you 2 minutes. You don’t get to control the temperature at all but it was hot enough.

Pitches have zero shade but there is a nice breeze almost constantly. Nice view of the ocean, but no dogs on the miles of trails or the beach. Convenient to Laguna. Pricey though for just water and electric. A bit difficult to find off the Highway. Can be a bit noisy...Californians like to party.

It’s obvious the state takes great pride and care with this place, it’s very well lit, cleaned and maintained. Very friendly staff as well.
A nice feature is also the natural brush and trees between each site offering more privacy than we are used to.

This campground overlooks the Pacific Ocean. All of the camp sites have a view of the water since the park sits on a bluff and the campground is terraced. It’s quite a location. The rest of the park is also fascinating. There is access to the beach and wonderful tide pools full of sea life. Even though the park is above the Pacific Coast Highway (Route 1) there is only a bit of traffic noise
The public facilities are relatively new and well-maintained by the staff. The showers require tokens which cost 50 cents each and give 2 minutes of water. This is surprising given the high cost of a campsite.
There is a historic section in the park of cabins right on the beach that are being rehabilitated and are for rent. The rents are surprisingly affordable. The historic section has been saved from the bulldozer by a non-profit that wanted to protect an area that has been an ocean playground since the early part of the twentieth century.
This park is in the midst of some of the most awful examples of the excesses of the wealthy. It is a nice like oasis of nature and calm.

Laguna Beach is 10 minutes to the south. Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach are 10 minutes to the north. You can easily get to the freeways. The sites are a mix of asphalt and dirt. They are very spacious and you have vegetation between each site. It doesn’t seem that any site has an obstructed view of the vast Pacific Ocean. All in all, a great park.

What a beautiful view of the ocean from high up on a bluff over the sea. The beach is amazing. I think it’s over two miles long with tidal pools to explore. There were lots of trails into the hills. We walked for an hour on one and found it quite peaceful. There was a Trader Joe’s about five minutes from the campground. The bathrooms were a little dirty. One dollar for a four minute shower that wasn’t very warm. No soap nor hand dryers in the bathrooms:( overall, an amazing location.

The walking trails are great for the dogs. The area itself is also very new and clean with tons of shopping, restaurants and great beach activities. Heisler Park was a stand out.
The park wifi was plenty good for basic surfing. I didn't try to stream as I feel that's not cool to do on shared internet. Verizon, ATT and T mobile hotspots were all strong w/out a booster. ATT - 20 d/l, Verizon 100+ d/l!!! and T mobile was over 20 d/l.
OTA was in and out. Major channels would come in for a while and then go out again. The facilities were in great shape and clean. They have individual shower rooms and individual bathrooms. Showers take tokens I believe that you have to purchase.
The sites are tiered so they all get ocean views and they are very large sites. No fires are allowed.
The 3 pm check in time is strictly enforced. The rangers were friendly and available if needed.

The views are fantastic (unless the fog rolls in), the site is huge and its directly across from the very clean showers and restrooms. The staff was super nice, and kept the place in tip-top shape. There’s a Trader Joe’s nearby and a short walk down the path to the beach. There’s also a much longer ocean-side path that can be reached from the park which allows dogs (no dogs allowed on the beach). We loved it here and will definitely be going again! The ONLY negative is that you can hear all the highway noise, but it kind of mixes in with the ocean wave noise!

The site was clean, well spaced and long. There is some vegetation between sites which helps with privacy. The bathrooms and showers were clean, there is a change machine on the one side of the bathroom that gives coins for the shower, I thought that was nice.
Steep drive down to the beach parking lot, where you park and then walk through a tunnel to get to the beach. The tunnel was kind of nasty with run off from recent floods, but the beach is AMAZING.
Super easy access to hardware stores, gas, groceries and restaurants.
I haven't stayed anywhere nicer than this park, it's my #1 right now.

We stayed here during October of 2015 and absolutely loved it. We were the second row of RVs up from the ocean (around spot 19). All of the sites have plenty of space around the RV and then a large area on the beach side to hang out and enjoy the view. The campground is very quiet and everyone was super respectful; it gets very dark at night and is so peaceful. There are a set of stairs that runs through the middle of the campground so if you have a spot there you may see a lot of foot traffic but it's most likely just other campers, not day visitors.
Behind the campground, up in the hills, is the Moro Canyon hiking trail, which is amazing for a long or short hike and lots of good photo ops. Within the campground you can drive (or take a long walk) down to the beach, where there is a small parking lot and you can walk under PCH to go to the water. However, it was high tide when we were there so we were unable to get to the beach; instead we had to drive across PCH to another area, maybe a 2-3min drive total, just a little more inconvenient.
The only downside is that firepit's aren't allowed (unless they are propane) but it's definitely not a deal breaker. I had great cell service (sprint) but I don't believe there is WiFi; we were able to access a few stations without a dish for TV as well. The bathrooms require tokens and were very clean. Make sure to bring citronella candles for the flies.
