Camped right on the water and was rewarded with beauty at every turn. Lots of space between sites. Easy access to Cumberland Island National Seashore and Jekyll Island. Even had the chance to kayak right from the park. Beware the tides and wind though!

Tons of trails for walking and biking, the spots are a great size and we had no problem getting in with a 39ft motorhome.

Love this park. Big spacious sites. Some FHU, so check website on your specific one. 50 amp.
Trees. Lots of walking and biking.
Some sites in the water. Clean restrooms and showers. Clean washers and dryers that are $1.00 each! Has a store, Catfish restaurant is finally open!

This is a beautiful park and gorgeous sites! Big sites, level gravel sites, trees, huge pull thrus and some have FHU. Quiet, but lots of walking and biking. Has boat ramps, putt putt, store….

Our full hookup site was on the river and made hiking the river trail easy. Many activities to do here. Rangers very friendly. Easy drive to Saint Marys which is not to be missed.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of January, 2023. I reserved online and think I may have gotten a cancellation! The sites are very nicly done - gravel with a nice smaller sandy / gravel pad. Very long sites - some of the pull thrus were insanely long! Site #11 is a long pull thru looking out over the river - someone did mention it would be hot in the summer as no shade trees and could get cold in the winter with the breeze off of the water. I'd still take it though!
Loved the trails, cleanliness and atmosphere.
And - the best? Saw an armadillo meandering about in the middle of the campground in the middle of the day! The next day - saw a gopher tortoise doing the same thing!
Great little nature center too - great place to base from to visit St. Marys (nice little dog friendly town) and check out the Tabby Mcintosh Sugar Mill Ruins / for a video of that see: https://youtu.be/B7aOojJ7UMI
Would definitely stay here again!

Several of the sites on this side of the loop had patios situated behind the driveways but we were small enough that we were able to use our awning and create our own side patio with no problem. The staff and volunteer hosts were great! Our site was clean and level with fresh gravel. Both bathhouses had AC! We walked several of the trails until the mosquitoes got the best of us. It was late July so not unexpected and won’t deter us from coming back in the cooler months! TONS of activities to keep kids entertained as well as an indoor nature center. Definitely a keeper. Solid 2/3 5G bars on ATT and 2/3 4G/5G bars on t-mobile hot spot. Easy drive to historic St Mary’s and 75.

The site had water and electricity but no sanitation hook-up. The only negative thing I can comment on is there is an additional fee for your vehicle, that is not included in the price of the campsite.
