Campground is a little pricey at $42 a night but we still had a great time. Shower house was some of the best I’ve seen and there’s nice walking trail to the river and the mine. And of course the thrill of the hunt for diamonds! We would stay again

It was very peaceful and we really enjoyed it. There are hiking trails and, of course, you can hunt for diamonds. The small downtown area of nearby Murfreesboro was quaint and had some good restaurants.

We had a little mix up coming in without a reservation. When we called the guy told us to pick an empty spot then go and register. So we did, because the sites have what looked like an electric turn sign saying “reserved or open.” Turns out those signs are worthless, and the guy assumed that we were coming in late at night (and we didn’t think to say our arrival time) and we set up in a reserved spot. Luckily there was one other site available, but it was a pain that could have been avoided with a little more communication.
So make a reservation, even when coming on a weekday for a single night. It’s a busy place.
Had to use our booster to get a good enough signal to work.

Campground was ok. Arkansas generally does a nice job with their state parks; this isn't the nicest one but it's totally serviceable. Signal is spotty.
Note that a large number of Arkansas counties are dry and even if it is a wet one, you can't buy alcohol on Sundays.

The park as a whole is very well maintained. The bathrooms were closed every other day due to COVID but that was minority inconvenient. We would be happy to stay there again if we were going to do the diamond field again, but there is really nothing else to do there.

Very quiet, we were not able to pick up any over the air tv channels, but the campsite was nice. We had a back in site, but there was no trouble getting in and out . We used a couple of leveling blocks. It was a beautiful campground .

Great location to the diamond digging. I agree with the previous post, it is not cheap. We did come here 12 years ago, and they have really done a great job upgrading the sites, and making them perfectly level (at least ours was). It's a short walk to the river which has a small place to fish from (You can buy a fishing licence in town or kiddos can fish without one), or head the other direction and you will go to the visitor center and mine entrance. It is a tourist destination, so expect tourist pricing and individuals. They had 3 washing machines, 2 of which were broken. It's also a dry county so plan accordingly.

Like many these days, we're invested in upgrades to our coach to have no need for any kind of e/w/s for long periods of time. We were told we could only use the fhu sites this time of year (completely empty) at full rate $38/night though a lot of the utils/facilities were shut off. We were hoping to stay for 3 to 4 nights.
We instead enjoyed an immaculate, empty, scenic campsite with electric, water, dump, never ending hot showers if needed spot for $8/night at lake greasson narrows damn 11 miles away.
