The sites are paved and level, with great views of the mountains and desert landscape, along with Cochiti Lake. Although I didn’t utilize the lake, there’s a boat ramp adjacent to the campground entrance. The Buffalo Grove and Elk Loops each had nice shower/bathroom facilities, which were supplemented by smaller pit toilet buildings. Electric and water at each site worked great. Each site also had a concrete slab equipped with a picnic table and sun shelter. At night, it was quiet and the stars fill the sky. The only drawback may be that the campground is somewhat remote, but it was only about 20 minutes from the interstate and 30-35 minutes from Santa Fe. A lovely ACOE campground - I would certainly stay here again!

Located a pleasant distance from the bustle of nearby Santa Fe and Albuquerque, Cochiti Campground is a quiet retreat a reasonably quick drive off the interstate, and offers a nice array of spacious sites with ample amenities to boot. Great views of the lake, covered picnic areas, and water / electric available at many sites. Unfortunately, we stayed only one night in April, with no extra time to explore the lake and area. Would come back in a heartbeat though, and recommend it as a stop along the path or as a destination to get out of town.

I don’t know why but AT&T coverage was better in the morning and T-Mobile in the afternoon.

We stayed at Cochiti while visiting Santa Fe. It’s a very large, clean campground - as most ACOE are. We stayed on the Buffalo loop with a nice view over the lake. I did not realize how far from town it is. Plan accordingly. While we were there many of the monuments and visit spots were still closed due to COVID which was a surprise to us. The tribes are being extremely careful and have close much of the reservation off. Be sure to check if you plan to visit. One thing I would mention is that the water, though potable, isn’t the best. Bring drinking water.

Did not use facilities. Walked into some of the older loops-and those facilities could use a complete makeover
A few dump stations here. Newer ones have a serious lip, so using a honey-cart could put your back out
Overall. Loved the campground. Great staff. Nice walks Always a breeze during the day, low relative humidity- so comfortable

Loved the views. Good unobstructed views for our starlink as well. They are rebuilding some of the restrooms/showers. We used the one at the start of the campground near the campground host space. Very clean and updated. We were in the juniper loop, space 27. The restroom up here is not working. Also there are no covers over the picnic table area in this loop. Careful when you choose a space that you have the water and electric hookups you need. I had to edit mine a couple times. Oops! Otherwise we liked our visit. The little village Peña Blanca has a laundromat that is very convenient. The super Walmart on Herrera dr. In Santa Fe Is really nice. Has everything we wanted. We would come back here again without hesitation.

Women’s shower not a 5 star. Curtain torn and a little grungy. Push button showers not great but ok. Everything else was super. Site 51. Might be the best site in the camp overlooking the lake. Used mostly as a base camp to explore Santa Fe area. But a super nice campground with great views.
