Beautiful setting with Kitchen Creek running along side the campsite. BUT, the biting black flies this year were unbearable. Will wait until fall and try again

We checked this out on our way back from Borrego Springs over Thanksgiving. 5 miles off I-8 is this hidden gem. We'll be back to stay but it looked great and the trees are so gorgeous. Might get a bit cold at night as it is a higher elevation. Lived in San Diego for 40 years and never knew this was here. Can't wait to go back.

It's about a five mile drive up a lonely road from highway 8, and the solitude shows. The price is right for dry camping. It's a nice stop if you're going to or from SD to AZ.
I did not have any cell service, either Verizon or Sprint.

Nestled in the trees and along the creek made this a great little spot that I enjoyed. Vault toilets weren't the cleanest I've seen but the were a far cry from the worst, so acceptable. There was a notice about the water but it was just an advisement so I used it for cooking and my coffe, it was fine. Very limited Verizon reception, in the perfect spot and holding your tongue right with the stars aligned I kinda got a bar....
