All sites in loop 3 are asphalt and some are more level than others. Site 110 is not level but we made it work for an overnighter. Our site was water and electric. Tree cover was delightful but thick enough that we could not get our Starlink to connect. Bathhouses are nice facilities with plenty of toilets and showers in each building. Equipment worked well although they could use a thorough scrubbing and touch-up paint. Our site as well as several other sites had some large spills (grease, fuel or some other hazmat) and we brought it to the park’s attention. (A good pressure washing with cleaner would likely remove these spills). The park staff was excellent and the rangers were visible throughout our stay.

The road in has some rally nasty speed bumps. You have to check in when you arrive even if you already have a reserved site which seems unnecessary. The sites in our loop are paved pull through sites but they're all very close together and there is zero privacy between sites. Luckily we were really only around to sleep. The sites aren't terribly level For as close as the sites were together the campground did seem pretty quiet. It can get kind of smoky when people are having fires. We had 3 bars of LTE and 26 over the air TV channels. There is free Wi-Fi but it is limited to 0.8 mbps and 200 mb of data so it's not useful for much more than checking email or basic internet. The campground is heavily wooded which is nice that it provides shade on a hot day but if you're relying on solar it's not a great choice. This campground is good for visiting Nashville and Central Tennessee but I wouldn't make it a destination campground where you're going to hang out.

Shame on me for not paying attention when I made the reservation, but site 41 is WAY too narrow for a camper with slides because of trees on the utility side and a raised picnic area on the other side. In order to clear the trees our steps had to land on the raised picnic area. That meant our door wouldn't close unless the steps were pulled in with a rope, not to mention it's pretty hard to go up and down steps at a 30 degree angle. We did not contact staff to get different site because it was race weekend, the park was full, and we weren't spending much time at the site anyway. This is otherwise a really nice park, nice and quiet, lots of trees, and friendly staff. We plan on returning next year (but not to site 41!) Note to self: Always look at the site pictures carefully before making reservations!

We were lucky to have one of the edge sites that looked into the woods. We hiked up the road just a bit to hike several of the trails including a paved handicap accessible trail behind the nature center. Nice area with lots of trees and karts with sink holes. Free showers but we didn't use them. Double dump station. WiFi free for 3 days but very poor access. Some cell service worked better.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #103, an E/W, BI site for $32/night including all the fees, taxes and a 25% senior discount. The nightly charge was different for weekday - $35, Sunday - $36 and Fri/Sat - $38. The roads and sites are asphalt. The road was a little narrow so passing other rigs could be interesting. You could see where others had dropped wheels off the road at corners and curves. #103 is very level and double wide so it was easy to get into and park the truck. Hookups were at the rear. The site is very spacious with a large picnic, fire pit, and grill area. Bathhouses were clean with individual rooms for showers (I didn’t use.) Wifi was only moderately strong and had limited data availability. I got 2 bars LTE with Verizon, 57.2 mbps download speed and roughly 30 OTA stations with touchy connections. There is a little bit of shade on the site but it is mainly open. There may be more shade when the trees are fully leafed out. It was a quiet park. I preferred Area 2 and 3 (more space) to Area 1. My favorite sites were 100 (easy in, private) and 110 (more crowded, but it was close to a creek.) Other good sites for larger rigs were: 56, 58, 66, 78, 99, 101, 102, 108. The people at the office were very nice and allowed me to ship packages here. There was a lot of good hiking as well. I would stay here again.

No big deal but since this was the last night of a 5 week trip I was looking forward to a good clean out of my tanks. Also neighbors picnic area was immediately behind our trailer (with rear bedroom) & they were early loud risers. Typical Tennessee State Park, lots of beautiful landscape, wild trees and vegetation, trails and lots to do but for some reason park designers in Tennessee like to bunch everybody up together in tight spaces - popular parks too since most everybody seems to enjoy that. We prefer more open space and greater distances between campers - most western and southeastern state parks are designed better. Anyway TN parks seem to be clean and run well - we just haven't found one yet that provides enough space between campers. Good OTA TV and Verizon signal.

I never went to the restrooms as my “neighbors” made me a little uncomfortable. I did walk around a bit, and the non-reservable sites looked nicer. They were a little loud - maybe because the site I was on was packed in tightly next to others. I turned the AC on (it was 97°), pulled the blinds and went to bed after a short walk.
I’ve been a happy camper for years - and it’s my opinion only - but this place did not appeal to me. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy nature, you may want to bypass this one.

Pretty TN park with narrow interior roads that become difficult to navigate when the sites are full and cars are parked too close to the road. We were on site 65, which is in a curve, and even though the site is wide, it was difficult to back into because the road is narrow. The huge concrete picnic table and fire ring take up a lot of the site. This site has a cell phone relay pole which helped boost our hotspots. It is also close to the bathhouse which looks new and was very clean - I didn't use it though.
There are horses and horse trails, hiking trails, a disc golf course, and a closed splash pad (it may be just closed for the season). We enjoyed riding our bikes through the 3 separate campgrounds here and for several miles on the main road through the park but there aren't any paved bike paths. We stayed in Campground 2 but liked the looks of Campground 3 better because of the concrete pads and better spacing.
The check in station wasn't very well thought out. There is room for one rig to pull off the road but you block the cars parked in the same lot. Everyone else must wait in line on the street blocking all traffic into the park. There are two dump station lanes that are easy to enter but if there is more than one person checking into the campground across the street, leaving the dump station is very difficult. We witnessed someone nearly flip their 5th wheel trailer trying to pull out of the dump station.
We would stay here again but book a site in Campground 3 and leave mid-week to avoid the problems at the dump station. (The nightly price includes $40 in taxes and a $5 booking fee)
