On my motorcycle
Views and dynamic landscape. Very cool and relaxing spot with global clientele. I camped off my bike and set up my tent in a palapa. Showers clean, so are bathrooms. Don’t want to leave.

$8 per person for a beachfront palapa. A large trailer could fit into palapa #4 but smaller vehicles work best here.
Hot showers, no dump station.

This is a special place. Campo Archelon started out as a sea turtle research center fighting for more protection of the turtles and its connection with nature is still felt.
It's dry camping, the best area is the one with palapas right in front of the beach, another clear area beside it also faces the beach and a some spaces are tucked behind the first row near a few little cabañas. The campground does not seem to accommodate big rigs, and when we were there we only saw Class C motorhomes, truck campers, vans and tents (in the palapas).
There is no cell signal in all of the town. WiFi access is offered at the campground for about $1.00 per person per day (included in our rate). It was on the slow side, best early in the morning and late in the evening. We lucked out and got a space by one of the big palapas. The palapa had a large table, two plastic chairs and room for hammocks and more.
They offer use of kayaks or free for campers, but we had our own. There are toilets, sinks, and showers which are mostly hot. Showers have somewhat low pressure, since the area is lacking in water. Antonio, who runs the campground with his mother has to bring in water several times a week. There is a large water faucet outside the shower building for washing dishes and such.
There are coyotes around, and one night they started howling and a bunch of neighborhood dogs started barking. Every now and then you hear barking dogs at night, as it seems everyone around there has dogs. They didn't bother us, but I know some people are more sensitive to noise at night.
In small private campgrounds like these, the people who run the campground, generally the owners, make a huge difference. Antonio and his mother, Betty are super welcoming and helpful and add to the experience. The campground is immaculate with little garden areas and other natural decorations around. They also recycle.
Antonio is planning to open a restaurant on the property in a few months, the structure is already built. He studied gastronomy, so I'm sure it will be great.

At Campo Archelon for $8/night you can open your eyes to pure magic every morning. There is no easier way to wake up before 6, and fall soundly asleep before 8. Sleeping under a palapa can be described as primitive, among the insects and the elements, but you don't think about that when the only sound you hear is the waves gently brushing up against the shore, and the only thing you see is the sky burning red at sunrise or the brightly lit crescent moon hanging low in the star-filled night sky.

Archelon is what you see on the cover of a magazine. It is what you dream of when you think of camping on the sand under the stars. Even better, it is not accessible to those big motorhomes or trailers. A small Class-C or small trailer will fit, but this place is really shines for tent-campers or vans. Just park beside your very own palapa, kick your can doors open, and soak in the Baja life. Do make sure to sit out at night and watch the stars. And as is the case for all of Baja, the sunrise is amazing.
Bathrooms are right out of Gilligan's Island and there are showers, but don't expect much more than a trickle of water. This is the only place we have come across that has recycle bins too. The owners actually keep the place very well maintained and clean.
The hike out to the lighthouse (1.5 mile each way) is worth it. Kayaking seems to be good early in the mornings (advise from others that have been there longer) but be wary of the winds by late morning that continue until sunset. The waters can get very dangerous very fast.
If there was Wifi or Cell, at all, I'd stay here forever.
