We stayed here for one night while traveling across Nebraska. You can see both the Cabela's and the campground from I-80 on the north side. It's a first-come, first-serve campground. We called ahead to check if they had sites available, but they couldn't really tell us that: they told us to pick an available site and then go into the store to pay for it once we were settled. Coming from the west on I-80, we could see there were available sites so we knew we were good before we exited the interstate. Even if you're unlucky and there aren't sites available, at worst you've wasted maybe 10 or 15 minutes checking it out before getting back on the road.
The campground has an RV section with 31 FHU sites (27 pull-throughs and 4 back-ins) and 7 electric-only pull-throughs, and a tent/dry-camping section with 6 sites. The roads and site pads are gravel while the site lawns are grass. We chose pull-through site 20, which was long enough to fit our 37-foot fifth wheel and 21-foot truck with room to spare and was pretty level side-to-side. The only slight negative was that the electric and water hookups are towards the front of the site, and our RV's power plug is in the back, but our extension cord gave us the reach we needed.
The one campground building at the entrance has a small office (unoccupied during our stay), an overnight registration box, a laundry room, men's and women's bathrooms and a hallway of shower stalls. The key code for the bathrooms, showers, and laundry is provided on the registration slip or when you pay in the store. Across from the office is a small playground, a dump station, a horseshoe pit (but BYOH) and two dumpsters. There is no dog park but there are dog poop stations and plenty of open grassy areas to walk dogs. Amenities and attractions within walking distance include the Cabela's store itself, the small Pony Express National Monument, and a large pond with a paved walking trail.
In terms of cell service, the best speed I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 134 Mbps down and 26 up, and we had no trouble streaming video. The best speed I saw on my AT&T smartphone with 5G was 28 Mbps down and 22 up. There is WiFi at the campground, but when I tried it I only saw 4 Mbps down and 3 up.
We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Nice, quiet, full service. Easy to find. Our 38 ft RV with tow behind easily fit into space. Immaculate rest rooms but didn’t check out showers. Even has a play ground, picnic tables.

Stopped here for 1 night on our way to Texas. It was a great stop for us due to miles traveling. Convient, easy access off freeway. Paid for site inside Cabela's right next door. Had electric hook up, water hadn't been turned on yet for the season.
Showers a bit dated but available and worked.

Even in midweek in Sept the sites fill quickly as the day progresses, but there's a lot of them. A little road noise but too bothersome, and many food choices. We stayed 2 nights and have no complaints.

Clean campground, clean bathrooms and showers. Interstate noise is to be expected when you are that close. Many dinning options nearby.

It’s not a place that we’d spend a week. But we’ve stopped several times for the night and it’s perfect. After a long day in the saddle, check out Cabela’s and grab dinner at Applebees. Both a short walk. No need to disconnect your tow vehicle.

They have free wifi and it has a great strong signal but it was broken while I was there something about the lightning storm that came through a couple days prior and spectrum is far AF away.
Cell was good 3 bars LTE on ATT I was able to hotspot to my fire stick and stream from my Plex server at 720P easily.
Sites are 99% pull through but there are a few that are back in. Gravel sites with a grass patio area.
Showers are cramped (and I'm the smaller side of average) and took a while for hot water to show up but once it did no issues and it was nice and warm. Bathrooms are clean and nice. Also dogs ARE allowed inside the Cabela's store so bring the pup in while you check-in or shop

We have stayed at Cabela’s campground multiple times. Unless you are just passing through and needing to stay a night or two, there aren’t a lot of other options in Sidney. It is FCFS and you can either pay at the unmanned office with an envelope, or you can go into the retail store and pay there. I recommend going inside the store to do it because they offer discounts that I don’t think the envelope system captures…especially if you’re a Cabela’s Club member. They only offer nightly rates, so they don’t have any discounted weekly or monthly rates. When I asked about this, they said that they are equipped for short-term stays for people traveling and passing through, not longterm stays. During off season, they shut off water services. We stayed once at the end of April and had to either fill our tank first before parking (we didn’t do), have to haul in water or rely on the park’s showers & laundry facilities. The showers are dated but they’re kept mostly clean. They have great water pressure but the water can get very hot so be careful of that. I haven’t used the laundry facilities yet, so I can provide feedback for it. I know that they only have a couple of machines. But I don’t know how often they get used or abused. There is a nice playground area for kids just south of the shower house. There are no designated dog areas but they do have a few poop disposal stations with bags. There’s quite a bit of open grassy areas that you can run your dog in. The southwest area is mostly weeds and is prone to have goathead stickers, beware. But there are other lawn areas that are nice. The sites themselves are all gravel with grass in between most. There are mostly pull-thru spots but there also a few back-in spots, as well. There is also a section to the south just for tent camping. There are quite a few shade trees. All of the spots with grass areas also have heavy picnic tables and bbq grills. Staff comes and mows about once a week. But if you have stuff sitting out, they’ll skip around you. There are also sprinklers that run late at night. I don’t know the exact time, but good to know if you have camp chairs, and other stuff sitting out that you might not want to get soaked. The sites offer full hookups and you can also connect to TV service that they provide. There is quite a bit of road noise that you hear on the interstate but majority of noise comes from local traffic on the main road going by the campground. This road takes you down to Colorado and connects with both Hwy 385 going north and I-80. So there’s a lot of semi truck traffic. Cabela’s also has free truck parking to the east of the campground which also serves as overflow for the campground when full. Aside from Cabela’s, there is also a Walmart, several fast food and Mexican eateries, Applebee’s, Bomgaar’s (farm supply), 3 truck stops and several hotels. In town, there are a couple of grocery stores, some local boutique shops, a nice city park with a fishing pond and brand new playground. There’s also a few eateries. If you want a great burger, go to The Silver Dollar bar and ask for their Buffalo Chips with it. My fave! Safeway grocery store is on the west end of town and has a Starbucks if your needing a fix! Hope you enjoy your stay!

As this is a first-come-first-serve CG, we drove through until we found a site (19 with FHUs) we liked. As Cabela’s Club members we got a 20% discount so we walked over to Cabela’s and paid for our site in a regular checkout line. You can also pay by credit card, cash, or check at the little unmanned office on the backside of the restrooms, showers, and laundry building. The laundry room was very clean and very reasonably priced with four washers and four dryers. Along with the majority of the sites being FHU, there are also electric-only and tent sites. They have cable but it’s pretty much the same as the OTA channels. There’s WiFi and we got 4 bars on Verizon and T-Mobile. You are near the interstate so there is some road noise, but not as bad as expected. This is a great CG for a couple of days' stay.
