The views at this site are great. It can get quite windy because of the elevated planes. When the winds are not blowing there are a lot of black biting flys that can be very very annoying. There are a lot of campsites here with plenty of space between each one. The view of the sunset over the snow covered Quinlan Mountains is breathtaking. Many sites are easy to access with big rigs.
It’s so quiet out here and the stars are just as bright as can be.

A fair bit of bow hunter traffic, but our campsite on a dead end spur was quiet. Tons of coyote and rabbit tracks. No atnt service.

There may be ~80 sites, but of the 30 we visited only 5-6 were any good and those were all full of hunters. We settled in a tight space 4 miles in and had plenty of traffic and dust. Military jets were a constant and obnoxiously loud. It' did not seem very remote or secluded...

The volunteer staff at the Visitor Center was cordial and informative... they have a picture book of each site, and a sheet with information about access to each.
I was up on a ridge and had excellent Verizon service.
The Border Patrol is everywhere, typical for southern Arizona. Polite and helpful. Those who are concerned about safety issues this close to the border should take comfort in that.

The place we camped was very easy to access, even in our big rig. The road was pretty good, and everything was pretty level. The visitors center can help you find a spot, if you need that. I can see how the area would be pretty in the spring and summer.

Views are expansive. Primitive campsites with no, absolutely no, amenities. Prepare to be totally self sufficient. You are 7 miles from nearest civilization.
Verizon cell works but AT&T didn't.
