This is a great place to set up a base camp to hike locally, visit the Valley of Fire as well as the Hoover Dam area. If you prefer to donate to the Las Vegas casinos this is also a great option.

Dry camping, one side has water hookups on sites one to right none. Generators 6am to 10pm. Sites spaced out well. Bathrooms are clean and maintained. Camp hosts are engaged but not overbearing. Will definitely stay again. Close to Las Vegas. Albertsons 6 miles away. 30 day limit.

This location is very good for a variety of hikes—canyons, Hoover Dam, and bluffs. We had access to Boulder City for laundry (Sudz) dog grooming (The Doggie Stylist), propane (Woodchucks), groceries (Albertsons) and other stuff from Henderson.
The campground host (Tedi) was available to help and very friendly.

The back in parking is set on an angle and much easier than most to back in to. Trash, bathrooms, dump station, and water all on site and $20/day (cash only) wasn’t asking much. Loved all the mature trees and landscaping and the fact you actually have some space to roll out a mat and get comfortable. We have 2 young children and they loved it. Park rangers are friendly and easy to find if you need them but are kindly unobtrusive.

Friday evening the campground filled to capacity, loud talking and squealing/giggling until 4am. Full on Saturday too, but music turned off at 10 and it was fairly quiet. Many spots have partial shade, water is available at each campsite but rules says you are not to “hook up”. Potable water available at dump station. Very clean and well maintained. About 30 minute drive from Las Vegas.

Boulder Beach is a very scenic place to dry camp overlooking Lake Mead. The trees and foliage make it feel like an oasis and provide a bit of privacy and separation between some sites. We were there in winter and it was pretty chilly at night but I'm sure it would be intolerably hot in the summer without the trees for shade. Plus it attracts lots of birds who flit round in them, much to our entertainment.
Even with short days and some shade, we were able to generate enough solar power. We Had to manage it a little but we didn’t struggle.
Navigating the loops was no problem with our 50+ foot bumper pull. Sites are level and pretty generous. We had plenty of room in our pull-through to unhook the truck as well as unload our sidecar from the toy hauler. The sites are equipped with fire pits as well as those massive national park concrete tables.
The campground as a whole is well-maintained and clean. Water spigots are readily available. We were even able to stretch a hose to one to fill the trailer without moving. There was no potable water available at the dump station during our stay. It looks like there was some issue and it was cut off -- not sure if that was temporary or permanent. But again, plenty of water access in the campground loops.
The restrooms are standard issue national park style with stalls and sinks but no soap. They are cleaned thoroughly daily.
We had no issue finding a site in the off-season but I imagine it's super busy other times of the year.
It's a nice walk down to the lake and along the foot path past the ruins of the Hualapai Lodge. It’s well worth a stroll to take in the scenery and history.
NOTE: there seems to be a lot of confusion between this national park campground and the Lake Mead RV Village next door that offers full hookups. So read the reviews carefully to make sure you’re looking for info on the right one.

Overall we love this spot, the view is amazing being right on the lake! Some you have to be careful with your timing on getting a site the place is usually full if the weathers nice. The camp sites most have some shade via trees and provide adequate privacy when your campsite is set up correctly. The biggest plus is they don’t separate tents and RV’s. We have a small camping group and we have all of the above and it’s nice being able to all be together. The only camp hosts and rangers are helpful and usually about. The only down fall is they allow 30 day camping so there is a lot of transient that post for long periods of time with problematic rigs that keeps the hosts and rangers busy. Don’t let it deter you! Still an amazing spot with quick access to the water. (And bring your hose bandit to flush your tanks)

This is a dry camping only first come, first served BLM campground and $20/night (cash only). We really liked staying here even though it was very windy 4 of the 8 days we were there. We hiked the Historic Railroad Trail to the Hoover Dam, drove 60 miles north to Valley of Fire State Park, and it was easy to explore Las Vegas. No OTA TV channels, cellular was good with 3 bars AT&T, supposedly there was 3rd party WiFi available for purchase (expensive and not available at all sites). Restrooms were clean but had no showers. The sites were spacious and for the most part were level. We were in the “D” loop and had a great view of Lake Mead. When we were there, many sites were available each day. The campground has lots of trees/vegetation and the park had recently been renovated with new asphalt roads and cement pads. They are currently renovating the other side of the park and is expected to be completed by spring 2020.
