This was our first stay in a state park campground in West Virginia and it was a great stay. Arrived during a steady downpour and rented a cabin for the first night but camped the second night. Two loops - one with electric sites and one without. Very reasonable rates - $25 for electric ($22.50 with senior discount) plus you don’t need a state parks sticker as you do for other states. Rates are also the same for residents and non-residents. Not all sites are level and some are very close together (which would be good for people camping together). Inside sites have no privacy between them; some of the outside sites have some trees offering privacy. Flush toilets and showers plus coin laundry. Bathrooms were clean but although the showers appeared to have new shower heads, they were a bit sketchy looking (shower shoes would be a definite). Very limited cell service but WiFi is available in the lodge and cabins. Great hiking trails.

My site was level enough for my small campervan. The sites are pretty spacious. You can see other people but distant enough where you cant hear them. Bathroom and showers are well maintained. Staff is friendly.

Campground is electric only, bathrooms were clean and showers in good condition. Site was not very level, but spaced well and large open area on inside of loop drive with central bath house. Access to sites was good with numerous pull through sites.
Quick walk over to the beautiful falls from the campground.

We tented here on what turned out to be a couple of rainy-ish and cold days in October. We pulled in and while the RV (hookup) area was about half full, the tent area (which allowed RVs, just doesn't have hookups) only had two other sites taken. I think the entire time we were there the peak was three campers. Firewood is available.
We set up our camp, hiked the falls, which is a pleasant enough mosey from the campground, and had a lovely and quiet dinner and fire in the nearly-empty campground. The next day was rainy, which turned out not to be a problem because of the lodge! We headed over for breakfast (the buffet was acceptable, but not great) and spent the morning in the large common area full of couches and chairs... and very slow WiFi (but better than none!). By lunchtime we decided to try a hike in the rain and had a fine walk on the trails in and around some of the cabins near the lodge. Trails were well blazed. We passed No. People.
Temps fell well below freezing overnight (the rain drops froze on the tent) but we had no problems and it was very quiet and pleasant. The bathroom was large, heated, had a power outlet I took over, and had at least 4-5 hot showers which were free to campers! A whisper of a cell signal available near the check-in cabin: enough to send a standard (short) text, but not enough for a long one that turns into an MMS message (those failed, but the short ones did get out).
I think the experience might be totally different on a crowded summer weekend, but at this time, with the leaves turning, it was beautiful and quiet and we had a very nice visit.

As to the state park itself, sites on the outside perimeter are well shaded, some right in the forest, and it's a quiet place even when the rest of the park is full of weekenders and their no good fun having children, as all of the spots are significantly spaced out.
While the hike to the waterfall that gives the park its name is probably the primary draw, checkout Lindy Point if you want a relatively easy hike with a big payoff...one of those layers-on-layers type views of mountains and valleys that just seem to go off forever until they disappear into the fading sky.
