Verizon had no signal.

What we liked was it was quiet and had a nice river with a small "beach" area at the boat launch. The bathrooms were cleaner than most we have used (cleaned 3 times a day by the host). Last but not least, the camp host (Greg) was top notch and his assistant "Freddy" (his dog) who would ride with him in the cart. Greg was very personable, and accommodating, you could tell he was loving his job and as well as the outdoor life.

Nice little campground that’s very well maintained and no issues with my reservations. A little more activity on Friday night and really active Saturday until around 5. Otherwise, it was quiet and pleasant. The river had a lot of growth and algae which made fishing difficult. Although I did catch (and release) a small trout.

This campground has generous sized sites, some more private than others. Overall the campground is very nicely maintained with just the basics. We reserved but there were open sites on the weekend we visited in late June. The river is pretty much the only thing to do here but it was lovely for splashing around on a very hot weekend. It seemed like it would only be deep enough for floating or wading to me but we stayed near the ramp. Our only complaint was the water spigot was located very close to our table and fire pit and was used constantly by our neighbors. By the end of the weekend it was very swampy. This is just bad camper etiquette though. It was a lovely experience and we would return!

The campground was well maintained, pretty big...well over 30 sites...most of which will handle a good sized RV. I have a 25 ft. class C that would’ve fit easily in most sites (except for the few tent sites). The campground sits on the bank of the Alsea river. Camp hosts were very nice and though only vault toilets, they were cleaner than many flush toilets I’ve seen at campgrounds in my day. There is a boat ramp and we were told outstanding Salmon & Steelhead fishing, but were were not there when they were running. The fishing, out of season, was not great, but we caught some small trout. There are blackberry bushes throughout the campground, hence the name. There is some noise from the road, but we were on the rivere side of the campground and it wasn’t too bad. There was no phone service.

We stayed here two nights on our trip along Highway 101. The hosts are a retired couple who were extremely nice and work hard to keep the campground clean. Every day they were cleaning the restrooms, blowing leaves or just tidying up the area. This was one of the most well kept public campgrounds we have stayed in on our cross-country journey.
The campground is on the banks of the Alsea River and there are waterfront sites available. There were two pit toilet facilities and a public boat ramp.
We stayed in late October and there were only a few other RVs. In summer they are full and a reservation is usually required.
