We really enjoyed this spot, and will definitely be back. There are spots all along the road, and some where multiple rigs can park. At the Trailhead it looks like 1 spot, and you could hike in and tent camp near the cliff. No amenities, but lots of trails. We got lots of cows walking through, so watch out for those cow patties. We have Tmobile, had good service. We were able to watch YouTube.
Road is washboard and bumpy, but what BLM spot isn't?
No need for 4wd, we did fine in our van.
Some folks left trash behind and demolished the firepit, so we cleaned and rebuilt.

Arrived before dark took a nice hike and are planning a long one for tomorrow. A small amt of road noise but not enough to both you.
Fire ring and maintained road. I would definitely stop here again.

The lower spots where all full so I drove about 3 1/2 miles pass the GPS coordinates and was able to find a nice spot. Was beginning to worry if I’d be able to turn my trailer around on that road I’m 40’ long truck and trailer I would not take a trailer up that far again but in a van or Truck camper I would camp there again

Keep driving back on the road! There is a parking lot area which folks camp at, but keep going about a half mile to a big area with 3 long pull through spots. Had no problems with my 26ft toy hauler + long truck.
Isolated, clean, great mountains and joshua trees, no cell coverage.

Stayed here for one night. Did some hiking on the surrounding trails, target shooting and stargazing. Enjoyed the serenity, only saw one other person during our stay.

Discovering this wilderness area so nearby was fantastic. Our new coach is 26’ and we were able to pull into the 2nd area with no problem. There was 1 car below us and 1 above and we never saw another soul all night. Beautiful sunset and stars. Entire area was clean, & even though I15 is close by, it was very quiet.

If you have a longer vehicle or a trailer, I wouldn’t try this road as there are several steep little hills on the road. Surrounded by Joshua trees & in the land of the Choya cactus, you’re also hanging out in the open range cattle area. But you have great views of the Virgin River Canyon and surrounding mountains. Higher up we were away from the noise of any I-15 traffic.

More beautiful camping sites available as you drive up the hill. There are Joshua trees in Choya cactus, and it’s open cattle range. Heading up the road toad, there are several steep bumps that would not be good for a longer vehicle or one with a trailer. Throat is in great condition right now, it looks like it was recently re-done. We... more

We stayed here 4-24-19 and it was fantastic! First off, the road in was about the most hairy road I would ever take my 22 foot trailer on. We stayed here 4-24-19 and it was fantastic! First off, the road in was about the most hairy road I would ever take my 22 foot trailer on. We scraped the front left leveling jack hard on the way up (Bent it pretty good, but didn't rip it off). Once you get to the spot though, wow. Many Joshua trees scattered on the landscape with a 150 foot walk to the top of a hill that allows a fantastic 360° view of the area. This is about as secluded as anyone could want on BLM land.
The area is large enough to fit at least 6-8 cars comfortably. It appeared there were many spots after this spot, but we decided to stop at the first place that looked promising. Our exact coordinates were 36.970235,-113.798438.
Sprint was spotty, but enough to Google things or make phone calls at any time.
We saw many SUVs driving up the road without returning as well as one pop up trailer, so we assume there are many more places up the road.
A 2wd truck or high clearance SUV would make it no sweat at all. A truck&trailer is sketchy, and I would never attempt a class A up here. If you're in a van or truck camper this place is for you!
