Overall Rating
We have resisted Walmart lots, but had no other options on a stormy night in Ellsworth. This lot was quiet, clean, and we even parked next to some grass and a small tree on a parking lot "island." Copped a couple of bars of Walmart wifi even. I can see now why people do this.

We pulled in around 5 pm on a Friday. 2 other campers were on the lot. We went in and shopped for an hour, came out to about 30 RVs in the parking lot. Park in "upper" portion of large parking lot (customer service direction). Fast WiFi & Dunkin Donuts in store. Clean, newer store with flexible, friendly staff, extensive outdoor section & auto center. Safe, open area with police & security drive through overnight. 12 RVs & vans overnight (all sizes). 18 miles from Bar Harbor.

I stayed here beginning of June 2021.I checked in with the service center and the only question they asked was how many nights. I was also informed to park furthest away from the front of building. It seems the intending parking spaces are painted with white whereas the rest of the lot is yellow. Not sure if that was the intention. An ... more
I stayed here beginning of June 2021.I checked in with the service center and the only question they asked was how many nights. I was also informed to park furthest away from the front of building. It seems the intending parking spaces are painted with white whereas the rest of the lot is yellow. Not sure if that was the intention. An empty grass lot is across from the Walmarts lot and I saw a big rig parked there. The lot is well let. The only negative for me was someone showing up at 2am in the morning with loud music blasting. The lot motorized sweeping vehicle did their thing at 3am, but only for a brief moment and did not come out to the camping area. I used the rest room at the nearby Home Depot. There is a gas station close by.

If you are wondering if overnight parking is still available then as of April 2021 they still do, tel (207) 667-6780 Walmart Ellsworth ME.. I called was told so but after the first nights stay they would like you to come in and let them know you will extending your stay. I believe they want us to stay on the garden side and if I remember correctly. I will update after my stay beginning this June 2021.
