Pulled in late on January 1, three other vehicles, all quiet. Very peaceful. Not horribly scenic, but it is central Missouri.

September 2023 this is the 2nd time we have camped at this site. The first time was about 3 years ago. Since it is about 500 miles from my home in Tennessee it is an ideal campsite to spend the night on the way to and from Montana and points West. We will stay again on our way home. The road to the campsite is well-maintained gravel road. It is impossible to get stuck in the mud unless one is driving off the gravel road into the grass. Road is a little narrower. It is a well-traveled County Road. The river is connected to the Missouri River and unless the Missouri River is flooding the river is only about knee-deep. Too shallow for boats, thus there are no fishermen. Last night we camped in a 36-foot 5th wheel, there was a class C motorhome, and 2 people camping in their cars. We each had plenty of room, but if more than 3 or 4 large RVs are parked there it would get a little crowded.
Just of interest there is a brand-new full-service campground with about 9 sites to open up in the next few months at the junction where the gravel road intersects the pave access road to the interstate. There one can have full-service but the road noise may be a problem. I spoke to the owner and they have not even named the campground yet.

This spot is a fishing access point with boat ramp. Lazy river snaking between farmland. Three fire pits. Two sites were back-in. One was last obvious. Mostly level. No power or water. I passed one truck leaving with fishing poles sticking out the back of the truck. Just after sunset a state trooper drove through, kinda nice. No other campers.
It’s a little gem for a short overnight stop.

Two or three small sites tucked 4 miles off of I-70 next to a boat access ramp down a manageable dirt road. Parking area for camping and the tent area may be muddy, and you may sink regardless of what the surface looks like (fresh gravel when I arrived). Pit toilet in decent shape, and no issues with cleanliness at the sites themselves.

It’s about 2 miles off the interstate and very peaceful. You’re surrounded by farm lane and wildlife. There’s a river at the site but didn’t explore it any. I came after a day of rain so the fire areas were flooded but the actual pull in spot was nice and dry!

About 10 pm then there was a constant flow of cars and trucks. A few stayed in the large gravel lot, most left, one truck decided to do donuts in the gravel lot on the way out. We found this oddly entertaining and thought it could have been locals parking to get “acquainted with each other “. Overall it was a good stay despite the traffic.

Only 2 designated “sites” with fire rings but sign says no fires if I remember correctly. Was only person there on Labor Day 2020. Right next to river but not many bugs at all. Have rooftop tent on my 4Runner so setup was a breeze. Not too far from interstate either. Perfect for a one night layover.
