Nice campground. Well kept big sites. Great price. Honor system payments. Nice place to ride bikes. GPS messes you up when getting here. It tells you to take a right on 102 but don’t. The road they give you after the right is a horse trail. Continue on to open pond road. You will see the brown recreation sign. After that it’s easy to figure out. We made the trip in the dark. It was a little harder to find. It’s pitch black out there

Great little gem of a park off the beaten path. Several trails for hiking but they weren't marked well. You knew you were on a trail but not marked by name or distance. Note: We stayed here in a tent. This is a gorgeous park, well off the beaten path on a small lake/pond with plenty of trees for shade and privacy. I took off one star for the bathrooms- they haven't been updated in a really long time.

I usually stay in the primitive A loop which has large sites, several of which face the pond. There is no "privacy" between the sites, but they are so large, you can't hear your neighbors. Easy access to water and restroom. Loop B is a group campsite. Loops C & D have electric and water hookups. No full service sites, but there is a dump station. All sites are large, mostly private, some are even paved. This is a very well maintained National Forest campground. There are plenty of trails to hike, as well as numerous forest service roads to travel. There are several ponds in the area for fishing. I can't say enough about this campground, just a relaxing place to unwind. All campsites are first come, no reservations. It is located about 15 miles south of Andalusia, AL. There is a small cafe close by which serves good food at reasonable prices. I do not have cell service at the campground with TMobile. I have seen others able to use their phones, but have not inquired about their service providers. There is no wifi to my knowledge.
The camp host have always been friendly and helpful. The rangers also have a presence, but not over the top.
