Lovely quiet spot under a tree among chickens and donkey.

Very basic with no facilities but ideal for stopover. Felt safe. Possible water and electric hookup beside house.

Overall Rating

Belle Terre is not your conventional campground. It has a very homey feel and layout. The owner has created a handful of “sites” with full hookups, surrounded by beautiful foliage and aged Oak Trees. He surprised me with a dozen fresh eggs from his chickens!! We were free to roam, said hello to his resident donkey Filberto, bring carrots lol I stay here every time I’m traveling through or wanting to spend time in NOLA or Baton Rouge. It’s a short drive to either location. I pay 20/night for FHU. Robert, the owner, can recommend several Plantations to visit within the town of Thibodaux. We took him up on them and I would highly recommend, the area is incredibly rich with history. I would definitely suggest calling ahead to confirm availability at Belle Terre. Helpful tips - 1. The street could easily be missed, slow down as you approach and turn at the double mailboxes 2. I used my extension cord in addition to camper cord to reach 30amp outlet.
